Sirens and Sailors

One of my favorite singers and musicians, Ann Hadlock is fronting her own band called Sirens and Sailors, based out of Seattle, Washington. I have both been in bands and produced projects with Ann and bassist Jeremy Lightfoot over a long period of time, in Seattle, New York and London- the result has been many amazing songs that have come from our collaborations.
Ann's new direction with Sailors and Sirens is a great combination of lush arrangements and intriguing layers of Autoharp and Slide Guitar - Ann plays the Autoharp, and Cameron Brownfield adds a fantastic dimension and classic uplifting touch with his Slide Guitar. In fact the Slide playing recalls the brilliant textures of Clapton's Derek and The Dominos era with Duane Allman, or various solo-Beatles records.
Another innovation in Sirens and Sailors is the introduction of Rhiannon Dawn Walther, performing excellent vocals and harmonies along with Ann. Ann's voice by itself is so strong and evocative, and to have it supported by another female singer
really makes the melodies and lyrics stand out perfectly.
This group is now set to perform at SXSW in Austin, Texas and have a new EP
out on Shoplifter Records. I truly recommend seeing them live, and listening to the wide range of moods and dimensions on the Sirens and Sailor's recordings.
