Miss Machine

Miss Machine

Miss Machine was the first band ever to be released on Shoplifter Records. They toured and rocked the UK in 2002 and 2003. We still support their first two singles and offer them for sale to the public, and there are also scintillating rockvideos that were made for each of these. Shoplifter plans to release a compilation of all the tracks that were produced by mr G Raphael along with these videos. Listen to the songs here and see the videoclips and decide for yourself-does this music rock? I think it really does. Anna now has a band called Demeter with Mr. Andrew Chatterly, and their sound still features her powerhouse vocals, but set in a completely different and esoteric musical world. Keep your eyes and ears open for Demeter, for I believe they will do really well this year. We wish them the highest and the best!! x x x

MISS MACHINE - by Toby L (rockfeedback.com)

Anna Mercedes is a rare breed - the sort of disaffected, snarling rock vixen that comes along every decade or so with expletives in mouth and firmly closed fists, ready to savagely uproot the rock 'n' roll scene, bearing rigid opinions and a commanding vocal-shudder that don't meet the social-norm. Backed with an army of similarly dissatisfied characters, Miss Machine are your enemy - know them, embrace them.

A brazen bunch of individuals, Mercedes, guitarists Kevin and Toni, bassist Alex and drummer Lisa together form the basis of your favourite punk-rock bands in one - a group that you'll line your scuffed 45-collections with; their debut-single - (Anna's autobiographical..?) 'All American Girl' - reveals such a statement of intent, knocking off dual six-string interplaying and solos that sleaze their way into the subconscious, amidst a rhythm-section designed to flawlessly enthral. With the prowling vision of their blonde leader, they won't stop until you surrender.
