Absinthee

Absinthee

A collection of beautifully warped music. Absinthee was formed in Seattle, Washington during a rainstorm. The sonics are based on strange inventions of basement electronic synthesizers, featuring the Arp Odyssey, furiously boiling guitars and antique dresses. The early songs of this duo are extremely dark, possibly attributable to omnipresent cloudiness in the heavy Pacific Northwest skies. Good music to paint to, write poison-pen letters, or jump off a bridge to- depending on your fortitude!

After about 15 songs created in Seattle, Absinthee relocated to New York where they corrupted loads of local musicians by training them to play their songs and then ruthlessly exploiting their good looks and talents onstage. The various screaming line-ups performed at NYC Clubs like Continental and Don Hills and in crazy-party-towns like Baltimore, Maryland. One Absinthee song 100 Crymes was released by Cleopatra records in Los Angeles as part of their infamous Black Bible alongside Siouxie and The Banshees, Bauhaus and Alien Sex Fiend. There are some wicked examples on the MP3 page.We are pleased to feature these songs here.
